Men’s skin care is finally getting some attention from the masses. When the skin care routine for men is effective then they are not only taking care of the way they look — but the way they feel.

Shave clubs and beard clubs are battling for the better look — causing the shave cream and beard oil businesses to boom. And the best part? We finally get to choose skin products that fit our individual needs.

If you’re a Viking and rocking the Ragnar beard, chances are you’re going to need different skin care products than a clean-cut businessman trying to avoid razor burn before his 8 AM meeting. Same goes for face cleansers — guys with oily skin are going to have different needs than men with sensitive or dry skin.
Let’s face it, our faces matter. And the better we take care of our skin now, the better our skin will take care of us down the line.
M. Skin Care Line: Everything You Need to Know
M. Skin Care is a line of products specializing in men’s skin care needs and skin care routine for men. I recently had the opportunity to try some of their products and was really impressed with how great the quality was.
The best perk for this line for me was that it was affordable, yet didn’t sacrifice any quality in their products.
I don’t like to spend an arm and a leg on cleansers or even shaving products (bad, I know.) But this line does a spectacular job of delivering solid shave and skin products without making me cry into my wallet and dig in the cabinet for ramen.

Triple Action Gel Face Wash
First impression: Holy heck does this stuff smell amazing? M. Skin Care uses ingredients such as orange peel and peppermint oil to create a cool citrus blend that not only smells fresh but leaves your skin feeling fresh.
The gel works as a three-in-one — cutting down on the price of paying for multiple products, and space by your bathroom sink as well. As a wash, exfoliant, and toner, I was really happy that I could use one product to clean up in the morning and before bed.
It’s also a great pre-wash before shaving. It softened my beard hair and made shaving a breeze. For cleansing, it contains small granules and witch hazel that helps deep clean your pores and cools your face after rinsing off.
I’ll be honest, my apartment has gotten a little too warm for me a few times this week, and I may have washed my face with this to cool off…and it worked.
I regret nothing.
Pre-Shave Oil
Never in my life have I had a pre-shave oil that didn’t make my cheeks feel greasy for the rest of the day without adding literally all of the soap and scrubbing until I was late for work.
A little goes a long way, and it rinses off easily without needing to scrub forever. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant to use this since it didn’t break the bank which to me meant lesser quality, but I was beyond impressed with how great it protected my skin from razor burn and irritation after shaving.
It softened my skin, kept it safe, and made me feel like I could love again. Maybe not so much the last part, but I do trust it wholeheartedly now and have turned a new leaf about not having to pay $30+ for pre-shave oil. Never again I say.
Caffeinated Shave Cream
Yes, you read that correctly, the shaving cream is caffeinated.
My morning routine is similar to the typical skin care routine for men – which does include a shave and a warm beverage.
I did think the shaving cream would smell like coffee but was really happy it didn’t as I’d prefer to drink my cup o’ joe rather than slather it on my face.
They use peppermint and spearmint oils, so it’s got a very clean and crisp scent. Even if you’re immune to caffeine, you’ll probably feel more awake from how cool your face will feel after shaving — which I, as not a morning bird, appreciate immensely.
The lather was also not overbearing. I’ve never been a fan of losing my razor in a face full of reddi whip, so this was perfect for me.
The best part? Paired with the pre-shave oil I had minimal redness and irritation, and the scents compliment each other as well. My skin felt soft and clean well into the day, which actually did make me feel more energized, even on cloudy days.
Charcoal Mud Mask
I’ll admit I’m a little new to mud masks. One thing I’ll tell you is for the love of all that is good and holy they do not need to stay on longer than recommended. Trust me.
I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle this one was on my skin. There were small granules to help exfoliate the dead skin off of my face, but they use aloe, avocado, and lavender to help keep irritation down and the scent fresh.
Charcoal masks work great for deep cleansing and exfoliating, so if you’re looking to really stay on top of preventing blackheads, breakouts, or have oily skin — this product will clean you up. If you have sensitive skin, I would personally leave it on for the minimum amount of time recommended on the instructions, as your face can get real irritated real fast.
Charcoal is also amazing at removing oils, dirt, and other bad nasties from your pores. If you have oily skin, this is an especially great addition to skin care routine for men.
Word of caution, if you have a porcelain sink, make sure you get the charcoal off. Don’t wait until days later to rinse it. You were warned.
Sensitive Skin Clay Mask
For the guys that can’t do charcoal, it’s okay! There’s also a clay mask that can do the trick.
The clay mask is less heavy than charcoal and can be left on a little longer if you want. They use shea butter which is high in fatty acids, and aloe which is high in vitamins, to help moisturize and heal your skin.
The mask, like the rest of their products, smelled great and had a mild earthy and citrus aroma to it. It wasn’t overwhelming at all, which only added to the zen that was using a clay mask.
I took the time to actually read a book while this sat, which isn’t something I get to do often. I wasn’t huge into masks before, but I do definitely appreciate the brain break I let myself take while I also helped get my face cleaned up from the long week. If you haven’t tried one yet I strongly recommend it.
This one was the product I was the most surprised and happy with. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. I also wasn’t expecting to get to chapter three in my book, and I feel like a brand-new man.
Best Bang for Your Buck
M. Skin Care packs a huge punch in their products and keeps your skin happy, healthy, and hearty. I was blown away with how well the products performed for how great the cost was.
They also may have made a mud mask man out of me — words I never thought I’d say.
I would definitely recommend these products if you’re looking for a budget-friendly solution for cleaner-feeling skin. The cooling aspects of their products are refreshing, and the daily and weekly usage has really helped my skin look healthier.
Washing, shaving, or taking some time to relax — these are solid steps to a good skin care routine for men for any skin type.
