Growing up in Iowa, the son of a John Deere worker, I learned how to take care of my skin by watching my father.  It was basically a shave and a haircut.  On special days he would add a little aftershave, which was it. Period.

Today it is completely different.  I have a 3-decade career in front of cameras on national television so it is important for me to take care of my skin and hair and even more important that I teach my sons how to do so, after all I learned from my father.

I have worked with numerous "Glam Squads" while at Entertainment Tonight and currently on Hallmark Channel's Home & Family.

On Home & Family, we have done various segments educating our viewers on how to repair sun damaged skin and hair.  I have learned a lot from our segments and often use the advice, tips and expert opinions.

Here are some of my favorites:

Shaving

I use The Art Of Shaving Mid-Size Kit, Unscented.  I enjoying shaving, with the 'old school' brush.  I use their entire shaving kit every day before work. The pre-shave helps lubricate my follicles and gives me a perfect close shave, which helps prevent me from getting a 5 o'clock shadow at noon. Their aftershave really moisturizes my face.

Teeth

Crest White Strips work really well on my teeth.  I have to smile all day, so having white teeth is important.  Nobody wants to see a television host with stained teeth.

Morning Skin Serum

In the morning I like to use the Skinceuticals C E Ferulic 1 Fluid Ounce - Anti-aging Vitamin C and E Serum repairs and protects Skin From Sun Damage for my upper face. It is great to use before all the camera makeup is applied.

Shampoo & Conditioner

I treat my hair with the Nioxin System. Their products clean my hair and provides a great scalp therapy. The bright lights on the set can make your hair look thin, so keeping mine fresh and thick is key.

Evening Face Cleaning

When I get home from work, the first thing I do is jump in the shower to remove all the day's makeup and products. Once I finish in the shower I start applying MyChelle Dermaceuticals' skincare regimen which includes, MyChelle Remarkable Retinal Serum, MyChelle Supreme Polypeptide Cream, MyChelle Remarkable Retinal Eye Cream. As soon as I started using MyChelle, I noticed an improvement on my face.  Those fine lines we all hate have dramatically improved.

Morning Work Out

I believe that having a healthy mind is important to your overall health.  I wake up early, sometimes even before my newborn daughter, to try and get a solid workout each day.  I got a Peloton bike and it has become my fitness obsession.
